Within our work that we do, we support Love a Child and what beautiful work they do! Currently they are in the process of building 50 families that have been living in a cave since hurricane Matthew! Here is a family in front of their new home. We look forward to our next dress drive so we can help them reach their goal!
The Urban Angels are thrilled to present “Circle of Love” our 3rd annual dress drive to be held at Studio Salon in downtown Denver. The purpose of this dress drive is to not only provide hope, love and joy to little girls around the world in impoverished circumstances, but to provide fun and colorful dresses for girls to play and grow in. Financial gifts donated will be shared between Love a Child and Hope House and will provide food for families in need providing hope for a better future.
For most of these little girls, this is the only new dress that they’ve ever had.
Peggy Kastning and Mary Martinez, brains behind the Urban Angels, have been serving the homeless community around Denver and spreading positivity and light. After seeing a program about the needs in Haiti, they both wanted to get involved. A major realization occurred. They could both help by making dresses for girls in Haiti, and continue to help families locally.
“It’s exciting to know that each one of us can make a difference in the world. With our love of sewing and our hearts for humanity, we can combine these two passions and help those less fortunate.” says Peggy Kastning of the Urban Angels.
The Urban Angels are two gals on a mission to do good, transform lives, and create happiness in the world. Through their annual dress drives and adventures to Haiti, they want to spread sunshine where they can and make this world a better place.
The holidays are here and The Urban Angels want to do all that we can to bring joy to others!

“Making jewelry is relaxing. I started doing it as a kid for gifts for my family, friends, and it stuck. My designs have always been this style. I’d sell them at work and they sold out. So I keep making them!. I had a desire to help The Urban Angels financially. I’d like to see if others would like to start making jewelry… kids helping kids. We can teach kids how to give back to the community!”
July 28th we will be distributing school supplies to the Jeffco Action Center. There are thousands of children in need of school supplies and clothing as they get ready to jump into the new school year. It is in our hearts to help them move forward with confidence! We’ll be collecting school supplies at the Fashion Denver fashion camp on the 23rd as well as purchasing school supplies.
The Action Center is always in need of supplies and clothing. If you would like to donate, click here to get the information on donations. You can always make a donation on our website and we will use your donation to purchase supplies as well. Donation button is on the right side of our pages.
On this day we will also be sending out school supplies packs to the Love-A-Child warehouse in Florida that will then be shipped over to Haiti.
We’re thrilled to be partnering up with Fashion Denver for their fashion camp on July 23rd at Green Spaces. We will be leading a creative activity working with the campers between the ages of 5-15 on making journals.
We feel that writing is such a great way to process life and share life’s journeys and we are thrilled to take these kiddos on an adventure to make a fun journal! These journals will spark creativity in our future writers!
We’ll also be reaching out to the fellow fashion campers and collecting clothing and school supplies. We’ve had several donations in the past and to see these kids hearts light up when they knew their clothes were going to a good cause, really makes our heart joyful.
